Child Abuse Prevention Month Recognizes Every Community’s Role in
Growing a Better Tomorrow for All Children, Together
Enotah CASA, Lumpkin County Family Connection (LCFC), South Enotah Child Advocacy Center (SECAC), along with Prevent Child Abuse (PCA) Georgia recognizes the importance of community-based support for all children and families during National Child Abuse Prevention (CAP) Month in April. The theme of this year’s awareness and impact campaign is “Growing a Better Tomorrow for All Children, Together.” Enotah CASA, LC Family Connection, and South Enotah CAC recommend the following ways that people everywhere can dig in and help raise awareness and impact during this year’s CAP Month:
- Wear Blue Day, designate a day in the month of April where your business, church, or organization wears blue to support Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention to show support for children and families. Include the #WearBlueDay2023 hashtag and @PreventChildAbuseGA in your posts.
- Join your regions efforts to implement Georgia’s Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Plan that includes ways individuals, communities, workplaces and others can get involved.
- Attend the Lumpkin County Collaborative Meeting on Thursday, April 13th from noon – 1pm for a Truama 101 Training and Lunch at Lumpkin County Park and Recreation. RSVP with Brigette Barker (brigette.barker@lumpkinschools.com/706-864-6189 ext 41126).
- Take a training on preventing, recognizing, and responding to child abuse: LCFC and SECAC will join together to host a free Stewards of Children with lunch included on April 13th from 5:30pm-8:00pm at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church. RSVP with Rebekah Perethian (rebekah@southenotahcac.org)
- Visit Enotah CASA, LCFC, and SECAC at the LC Sheriff’s Office Easter Egg Hunt on April 8th @ 10am to learn more about our services and volunteer opportunities.
