Stewards of Children Protecting Lumpkin Children
Lumpkin County is marching is leading the way in the Stewards of Children initiative. Stewards of Children is a child sexual abuse prevention program for adults. Lumpkin Family Connection began this effort in 2010 with a Prevent Now Luncheon and a goal to train 5% of Lumpkin’s population in Stewards of Children. Since that time, the entire Lumpkin County school system has completed the training and we are now working towards the goal of training 15% of the adult population in Lumpkin County. Once a business or organization has completed the training, they can apply for Partner in Prevention certification. To date, the following organizations are Parents in Prevention: Dahlonega Presbyterian Church, Lumpkin County Schools, Lumpkin County Head Start/PreK, Lumpkin County Health Department, Lumpkin County Sheriff’s Office, NOA, Long Branch Day Care, Kidz Korner Child Care/Learning Center, Little Stars Learning Center, Dahlonega Day Care, Enotah CASA, and North Ga College & State University. Other Strategic partnerships: Adults Protecting Children and Georgia Center for Child Advocacy.
Stewards of Children is a research based, third-party evaluated curriculum proven to change the protective behavior of adults. Contact us to schedule a training!
