 Family Advocacy Program

  • Serving clients identified at risk with children enrolled in Lumpkin County Schools.
  • Strength based family assessment with goal oriented action plan
  • Resource information and referral
  • Monthly follow-up/updates with families
  • Service delivery coordination
  • Individual Parent Education
  • Monday Morning Activities:
    • Every Monday 9:30a-11a at Dahlonega UMC
    • Active Parenting Now Classes
    • Anger and Stress Management
    • Adult Support Group
    • Life Skills
  • Parent and Child Activities
  • Student Support Groups
  • Walk in services at each school
  • School supplies, food pantry, and clothing available along with emergency funds
  • Prom Dress Swap and assistance with attending Prom

LC Mentor Program

  • Pair mentors with children in each school
  • Offer Mentor orientation and training
  • Mentors can have an individual mentee, mentor a classroom, or serve as a tutor

Stewards of Children Training

  • Scheduled monthly trainings
  • Personal training available upon request

Collaborative

  • Mission: To build and maintain a comprehensive community network that can assist families in finding and accessing resources to keep their children safe and successful in school and in life.
  • Collaborative Meeting open to the public with resource presenter on first Thursday of each month
  • Noon at Lumpkin County Park and Recreation

Back Pack Buddies Program

  • Providing 7 meals, 4 snacks, and 5 drinks to food insecure children in Lumpkin County every weekend
  • We partner with the GA Mountain Food Bank, Lumpkin County Middle School, Lumpkin County Sheriff’s Office, and our many volunteers to help make this program a success.
