Our Mission: To build and maintain a comprehensive community network that can assist families in finding and accessing resources to keep their children safe and successful in school and in life.
Our Vision: All Lumpkin County Families will be self-sufficient, capable, and productive. Parents will provide safe, nurturing environments for their children.
Our current goals include:
1. All children in Lumpkin County will be free of abuse and neglect.
2. All children in Lumpkin County will have an equal opportunity to succeed in school.
Lumpkin County Family Connection is a 501(c)(3) that has been working to improve outcomes for Lumpkin families for over 20 years. We are one of 159 community-networking groups known as Georgia Family Connection Partnership. Lumpkin County Family Connection is responsible for convening community partners to address concerns and issues regarding the well being of families and children within our county. We use a strategic approach to encircle families with resources and supports to help strengthen and provide stability to promote child safety and well being.
We have offices in the schools, but are a community-based organization separate from the school system. Through strategic planning and partnership Lumpkin County Family Connection has developed a Backpack Buddies Program, Mentoring Program, and Family Advocacy Program. We also host a monthly collaborative meeting on the first Thursday of the month at noon and our newest partnership with the school system has lead to the development of a Student Outreach Center. The center is located at the Middle School and offers families access to hygiene items, food, school supplies, clothing and parent education.
